Painting on Vlisofix

Standard

Our quilting group runs fantastic technique workshops run by our members – a great way to share skills (www.seabreezequters.com)

We had a lot of fun with this simple technique

It’s very easy
1 mix a bit of Fabric Medium into acrylic paint
2 Paint the glue side of the Vlisofix (any similar product would probably work)
3 Let it dry
4 cut your shape out
5 Iron onto your background fabric
6 Peal off backing paper and you are left with the paint

You get very crisp edges and no colour bleed – not very washable and you wouldn’t want to put a hot pot on it (glue might melt!!)

Kim also experimented with a gauze or organza on top – looks great and minimises the glue melting risk!!

Here is my first play attempt
